• The first 200 applicants will be considered between January 5th and February 15th. 

• Lavender Fest will not accept applicants after 200 submissions have been sent. We encourage you always to try again next year!

• By a diverse committee of artists, led by the Festival Director, representing multiple facets of the queer spectrum.

• All of them! Full-length plays, screenplays, pilots, etc. If you have a script that is ready for its next development cycle, send it along!

If it includes one of the following:

• Written by a queer person

• Produced by a queer team

• Features queer characters

• Remix of a published play into a queer story

We’ll take a look and see how it fits into our season.

• Show submission fee: $30

  • This submission fee is non-refundable.

• Participation Fee depends on the type of venue you are assigned:

  • Main Stage (two performances): $350

  • Triangle Cabaret (three performances): $125

  • Special Event (one-night-only): $200

  • Family Friendly (two performances): $200

Both fees support the staff of Lavender Fest, marketing for the festival, administration of the festival, and other operational costs of the venue.

• The box office tickets are split 70/30 in favor of the company performing.

• Our ideal runtime for a show is 60 minutes. But don’t let that fact stop you from submitting your show!

• Our festival schedule will be a dynamic combination of show times and lengths. Sometimes, including a double-billing of two 30-minute shows.

• If you fall into the reading category, we accept full plays that can run up to 2 hours.

• We are continuing our efforts to find billet housing for our artists. Once accepted, the Festival Director will reach out to specific individuals to set up a match based on need and capacity.

• Yes! A document detailing what set pieces and props will be available after companies have accepted offers. 

• A stage manager will need to be present to run your show. If you’d like to hire one of our crew members to run your show, Lavender Fest will have stage managers available for hire.

• No. A dynamic plot will be available for mainstage shows to share, with each show having its own program saved. 

• Yes, within reason. Lavender Fest will have plenty of space for storage that will be shared between all participating shows

• Yes! The Technical Director of Lavender Fest will be at your tech to help answer any questions and program if necessary. 

• The Lavender Fest Festival Director will also be around to help artists feel at home.
